The 20th International Trophée Baron Romeyer will be held on 15 April 2025 at the Institut Provincial d’Enseignement Secondaire (IPES) in Wavre. This prestigious culinary competition, organised by Walloon Brabant in partnership with Euro-Toques Belgium, brings together the best secondary hotel schools.
History of the competition
The Baron Romeyer Trophy was launched in 2004 by Stéphane Pierre, then president of Euro-Toques Belgium, in collaboration with Gaétan Bousman and Pierre Romeyer. The aim was to bring the professional world closer to specialized schools, to pass on knowledge and to promote teamwork and quality products. Since its inception, the competition has become a reference in the culinary field and welcomes talented and passionate teams every year.
Competition Objectives
The objectives of the competition are :
- Closer ties between the professional world and specialized schools
- Passing on knowledge
- Eliminating any form of cronyism, both in terms of products (no luxury products) and participating coaches (no star chefs).
- Valuing teamwork
- Priority for quality products
Participants

Tests
The teams, consisting of three students under the supervision of a professional, must compose a complete menu consisting of a starter, main course and dessert. The final tests will take place in the premises of the IPES Wavre. The teams will prepare the menu using the recipes from their selection file. The scoring criteria are taste, presentation, creativity and hygiene.
Jury
We would like to thank Maxime Van Bellingen for taking on the role of chairman of the cooking jury for this anniversary edition. The jury consists of professionals from the sector, representatives of Euro-Toques and other experts. The decisions of the jury are final.

Awards
The first three winners will receive the Trophée Pierre Romeyer, the Trophée Euro-Toques and the Trophée Le Brabant wallon respectively. Special prizes and many other awards will also be presented.
The results will be announced and the prizes awarded on 15 April 2025 at 5:00 pm during a reception at IPES Wavre.
The press conference, with a presentation of the day’s activities, will be held at 11:30 am at the IPES office, Quai aux Huîtres 31, 1300 Wavre.
